Home Tableware & Barware | 1790 Georgian Sterling Silver Berry Spoon KO09964

Sterling Georgian berry spoon by London silversmith Richard Crossley (RC). Gold washed bowl. Date mark for 1790.

The spoon has a delightful crest on the end, portraying some kind of beast on hind legs with his front paws in the air, standing on a coronet.

The repousse fruit decoration was added in Victorian times.Victorians liked to fancy things up and did this a lot with their plain Georgian silver.

Condition: very good. The gold wash in the bowl shows a little wear.
