Home Tableware & Barware | 19th Century French Louis XV Carved Walnut Thirty Five Wine Bottles Cabinet UF28007

Keep your wine bottles locked and safe in this elegant antique display cabinet. Crafted in western France circa 1860, the bonnetiere stands on scrolled feet over a scalloped apron and has a top removable crown; the piece features a carved central door decorated with look thru vertical iron bars. Inside, the cabinet reveals seven shelves with scalloped edges, each with five bottle slots, for a total of 35 wine bottles. It is further embellished with the word "Bourgogne" printed across one shelf. The cabinet is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina. Original lock and key included.
The French wine region of Burgundy (aka “Bourgogne”) may be small in size, but its influence is huge in the world of vino. The complexity of Burgundy can cast fear into the heart of even a seasoned wine pro, but fear not - the region need only be as complicated as you want it to be.
Yes, it is home to some of the most expensive wines in the known universe, but there are also tasty and affordable wines. Located in the east-central part of France, Burgundy has 5 primary wine growing areas (not including Beaujolais and Châtillonnais): Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune,
Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais.
