The colors in this remind me of a watercolor, a swirl of different shades of green, white, blue and even lavender. Instead of the tired old green or green and white cabbage, this feels like a rich painting, full of colors and shadows. The weight of the piece is extraordinarily light. It's definitely not porcelain or stoneware. It feels incredibly delicate, and I would lean toward using it as décor rather than use. I also may have a long and storied habit of breaking tureens, so... There are two chips, each on one of the handles. Roughly .5" x .5" ish or smaller., on the underside of one of the handles. I'll mark it on one of the pictures. The second is a teeny tiny chip that's so small I can't even find it in the pictures. Both of them are non structural and if I hadn't gone looking with my fingertips I would never have found them. I have found no crazing, but getting this piece wet before the the chips are resealed could cause crazing in the future. Being on the outside makes sealing the chips incredibly easy, as it doesn't have to be food safe. The ladle is 9" long and 2.75 around. The tureen itself is approximately8"w x 6"d x 7.5"h. Apologies if I'm off, measuring a cabbage is much harder than it sounds.
