There are many Wedgwood collectors who specialise in cups and saucers. One could fill a large house with the vast variety of cups and saucers which Wedgwood produced in its numerous lines and colours over two and a half centuries. This large Jasper dip tea cup and saucer in the Bute shape is what we would now call a breakfast cup. It is in the dark "Portland Blue", and is decorated with the Processional, Coriolanus and Nike figural groups in white sprigging. It is late nineteenth century and has no cracks or chips. The light tea staining is very typical and adds a great deal of charm, but it is certainly removeable, with a little bleaching.
