This pair of large antique French parcel paint pitchers has very ornate designs. In the Rococo style, their motifs are drawn from nature. Their scalloped upper rim imitates the shell motif and their handles are acanthus leaf c-scrolls. The shaped bodies have cartouches with scrolling acanthus leaves to either side of the central cabochon. All this rests upon a base having motifs of palmettes. Versatile in their uses, they can hold flowers or stand on their own as lovely accessories inside or out.
