Home Tableware & Barware | Late 19th Century Rustic Victorian Silver Plate Tray KO90080
Beautiful silver over copper footed tray has elegant heavy scroll design setting off a deep tray that has been loved and polished to the point of the copper showing on the edges and here and there on the design.
It is a beautiful example of a Victorian piece that should go on. It is rustic and shows age which may work in many homes where old is considered good. It would work well with other pieces of the same vintage.
I have used it under an art nouveau Sheffield tea set. The tray has feet which makes it stand out. I love the heavier deeper gray scroll work, which I have not tried to polish.
The back of the tray escaped the heavy hand of the polisher and is of course, perfect. There is a beautiful, almost fern =like feathered design on the body of the tray., embellished with scrolls. No flowers to be seen.
