Home Tableware & Barware | Late 20th Century Mottahedeh Canton Rambeau Tureen - KZ35040
Availability: In Stock
Offered for sale is this fascinating tureen from the Mottahedeh Canton Collection. “Rambeau” is a retired tureen and difficult to find, especially one that is in fine condition such as this one with nary a horn or an ear broken! I could photograph and write much about this tureen - There are many details. Don’t miss the beard, the nubby tail, the textural holes in the porcelain fashioning eyes, (check out their shape) the nostrils and mouth. There is a walled village scene depicted in the iconic Canton blue and white covering the body with individual scenes to be found on the rams face, back, top of head and sides. Love the texture from the embossed stripes on the bold horns and outstretched ears! This beautiful tureen is splendid for serving at your next soiree - and a sure conversation piece- or as a handsome decorative figure for those who love interesting and exotic animal figures. He’s quite substantial weighing in at eight pounds and measuring 13.75 x 9.25 x9”.
Enjoy!
