This African Primitive was obtained from a collectors estate in Yonkers, New York. Along with this piece, we obtained many rare Goli Tribe Masks. We're unsure of the exact term of this primitive, although it would be safe to say it was used to transport water or milk amongst the tribe. It is made of a thick and durable clay which was painted in a faded ebony. The entire piece is encased in a heavy natural rope weave, which is very tight. There isn't any cracks or chips in this piece and it appears to have been kept dry for most of its life. This would make an eclectic conversation piece on display
